Brides with weddings set for the fall/early winter are treated to an array of favorite fall colors for their use on the most special day of their lives — think maroon, grey, brown, gold, and that warm, comforting olive green — but what happens when you apply the trendiest colors to your makeup look for the day? Magic!
This fall, the industry’s revered fashion designers are talking about metallic eye shadows, bold lips, and gold or purple tones to make your green or brown eyes pop!
Let’s take a peek at what they’re saying …
When Rihanna launched her Fenty Beauty line, makeup enthusiasts scrambled to get their hands on her products. Her foundation flew off the shelves, but women around the world are loving her lip looks, too! She sent a model down the runway (see first picture below) with a super bold lip and extended cat eye – super trendy, and just enough!
Want to rock the no-makeup makeup look but don’t know where to start? The fresh face with a subtle but smoky eye (see second picture) presented by Mimi Tran still says "au natural" but with a hint of shimmer perfect for your walk down the aisle and partying through the night!
Pucci says that neon eyelashes (see third picture) are the way to go – as long as these colors come in waterproof versions (for when we will inevitably shed a few tears of joy) we’re here for this trend! A strong neon mascara can totally work, as long as you keep your lip and eyeshadow to a bare minimum.
If you’re a total girly-girl or “matchy-matchy” person, the fourth picture below is the look for you. Pastel eyes and a matching lip make this woman’s skin and eyes pop, and to top it off, her earrings complement her makeup perfectly! Try this trend but be careful not to over saturate the lipstick and the eyeshadow; it’s easy to go from soft and ethereal to an 80s party girl real quick!
Here's some sage advice from a makeup artist on booking someone for your wedding day:
"I think it’s really important for brides to look at the portfolio of potential makeup artists and contact artists whose aesthetic fits with their vision. I also recommend that brides contact makeup artists right away and ignore common blogging advice of waiting until a month or two before the wedding, because I’ve been booked a year ahead before, and latecomer brides are disappointed when they find out that their popular wedding date has already been taken."
So, we suggest you schedule your consult with a makeup artist and share your desired wedding date with them ASAP.

As you think about your wedding day journey, there are several factors that a client must consider before booking their wedding florist. There are some basics that you should expect your wedding florist to know or you can kindly consider them red flags. This information will also ensure that you are on the right track.
You should expect your wedding florist to know:
1. Wedding Flower Care and Seasonality
2. Estimated Standard Price Range
3. Personal Design Strengths
Wedding Flower Care and Seasonality
Your florist should know if your flowers will stand up to your wedding in the ever changing Texas weather and beyond. With temps in the summer months in the 100's, it is very important that your florist knows care for the flowers and if the flowers offered/selected fit the season.
Estimated Standard Price Ranges
Most florists know their hard costs allowing them to set a standard range for your flowers. It is not uncommon for a bride to ask their florist an average price for a bridesmaid bouquet and bridesmaid bouquet. This gets tricky when you have a flower request that is pretty unique and/or out of season.
Personal Design Strengths
Most florists have a specialty and it shows! It is totally appropriate to find out their style and ensure that you are a great fit for one another. It would be better for you to find out that they can deliver on the look and feel that you are going for up front versus having a disaster waiting for you on your wedding day.
Not gonna lie, we have some florists that we absolutely love! Comment below if you would like us to share our favorites with you!

Have you ever wondered why some wedding receptions are a blast and other receptions are just so whack? I would love to share with you information that one of my favorite DJ's, Kyle Clark. Better known as, DJ Motivate shared with me about keeping your guests on the dance floor! Maybe it will help you out when it is time for you to make a decision about your big day!
The biggest key to keeping your wedding guests on the dance floor is...
That could sound really silly, but the truth of the matter is you have a room full of people who know you and/or your fiance. Not that the random people at the table that they got stuck with because they RSVP'd at the last minute are bad, but they still don't necessarily know each other like that. Or better yet, how much more do you really want to sit with co-workers whom you spend 40+ hours per week just trying to get through already?
Keep in mind that people came to your wedding to celebrate you and your spouse. If they can't find you, it makes it really hard for people to just get down and boogie without you!
Events Unleashed Pro-Tips:
1. Slip some comfortable shoes under your seat before your wedding reception so that you can change into something comfortable discreetly.
2. Stay hydrated.
3. Cool it down a few extra degrees in your wedding venue before the music cranks up.
4. Ask your DJ to start the party with your favorites to help you turn up!
5. Get those photos and formalities out of the way early! There is no bigger buzz kill than stopping the party mid-way through with everyone on the dance floor to stick to a timeline that no one knows about anyway.
6. TRUST the professional. When your DJ asks for 10 songs, give him 10 songs not 92 that are all over the place that don't allow them to create and get in a zone!
7. Bottoms up. There is no better courage than liquid courage for those who have two left feet.
8. Be carefree! It is your day and you should totally enjoy it!

Let me start by clarifying, Pinterest is great, we all love Pinterest, but there is cause for great concern when your whole wedding is planned from someone else’s vision for their special day.
Just like you, your big day should reflect your uniqueness, your gifts, your passions and your personal story!
Many women have dreamt big dreams for quite some time and it is easy to get caught up in a Pinterest Fairytale wedding, but when reality sets in of how much those flowers actually cost or what it really takes to upgrade to those fantastic chairs, linens, extended guest count, etc. it’s easy to spiral down the road of not enough.
Not enough money, not enough time, not enough whatever! Stop, just stop. Breathe.
Take out a blank piece of paper and for Pete’s sake dream again!
Get inspiration all day from Pinterest, but please stay true to yourself!
P.S. Mr. and Mrs. McBride's wedding pre-setup is shown above. If they shared that they wanted black and white stripes with pink and gold, someone could have said no way, but we said oh yes! Let's make it work and it did! Checkout more wedding photos in the gallery!
When you get #engaged and people begin asking you when you are getting married, the best response (other than mind your business) is “my fiance and I are enjoying our engagement at the moment, but will let you know the details regarding our wedding date when you receive your "Save the Date” (if they are invited).
Enjoy the engagement process, after all, you’ll only be a fiance for a short period of time!
There are 3 things that I advise clients to consider as they embark on their journey to marriage:
3. Pastor Availability
Keep it simple and start with the basics, they will be what help carry you through the rest of the decisions that you will have to make.
First things first, a first look is when a couple chooses to see one another before the ceremony.
Our stance on first looks: We don't have one!
If you would like to have a first look, by all means go for it! Some of the pros and cons we've heard from our couples are:
1. Helps with your wedding day timeline
2. Reduces anxiety
3. Allows you and your spouse time to soak in the moment more freely
1. Could reduce the amount of excitement in seeing one another for the first time
2. Run the risk of being seen by the guests before the ceremony
3. Some people feel like you are cheating
At the end of the day, we always advise our couples to do whatever makes them feel the most comfortable. Will you do a first look?
There are so many inexpensive ways to bring glamour to your wedding. My current favorite is floating candles. There is something about candles in water, maybe because they are elements of the earth. So as you are thinking about your day, consider adding some floating candles around.
No one knows where the vases or candles come from, so save yourself some money and stress.
You can incorporate floating candles as shown in the images above from Pinterest and/or consider:
1. Elegant long vases make for great centerpieces
2. Add marbles to tie your color theme together
3. Wine glasses work great for a vineyard wedding
4. Use them as your runner at the rehearsal dinner
